The Sainte-Livière Flea Market, a Spring Event at Lac du Der

Organized by the ACDI (Association Consultative Des Intérêts de Sainte-Livière), the Sainte-Livière flea market has established itself as an annual spring event in the Lac du Der-Chantecoq area. It is held around the village hall of the hamlet, located in the commune of Éclaron-Braucourt-Sainte-Livière (52290).

Sainte-Livière is one of those places that survived the creation of Lac du Der, inaugurated in 1974. During the construction of France's largest artificial lake, several villages were submerged, but Sainte-Livière was spared and is now located on the shore of the body of water. This past gives the hamlet a particular character, between memory and renewal.

The flea market benefits from the remarkable tourist situation of the area. In spring as in summer, Lac du Der attracts tens of thousands of visitors: walkers, cyclists, ornithologists who come to observe common cranes, boaters, and holidaymakers. This influx benefits local events organized in the lakeside villages.

The event brings together 50 to 100 exhibitors — individuals and professionals — who offer a fine selection of second-hand items: furniture, crockery, books, clothes, toys, trinkets, and various curiosities. The atmosphere is particularly friendly, combining the gentle lakeside setting with the village spirit.
