2nd Car Boot Sale of Dommartin-le-Franc (52110), July
The Car Boot Sale of Dommartin-le-Franc (52110) confirms with its 2nd edition in July the organizers' desire to create an annual event in this village in Perthois, between Saint-Dizier and the lake of Der-Chantecoq. The first edition having been well received, this second event benefits from favorable word-of-mouth and better visibility.
Dommartin-le-Franc is a village in the canton of Saint-Dizier-Sud, in this northern sector of Haute-Marne where the geography is still marked by the great Champagne plain. The Perthois, an agricultural territory par excellence, is known for its vast expanses of large crops, its ponds, and its wetlands. The proximity of the lake of Der-Chantecoq, a few kilometers away, makes this area a popular summer tourist destination.
The forge of Dommartin-le-Franc played an important historical role in the industrial history of the region: founded in the 19th century, it was one of the many metallurgical plants that dotted the Marne valley and its tributaries, benefiting from hydraulic power and coal from the La Machine basin. This industrial past has forged a particular identity for the village, mixing rural tradition and working-class heritage.
The July car boot sale is an opportunity for the inhabitants of Dommartin-le-Franc and passing holidaymakers to meet around various stalls: clothing, books, crockery, furniture, toys, and various trinkets. The summer atmosphere and the long July days allow for an event spread over a good part of the day, in a pleasant setting under the Champagne sun.
The flea market of Dommartin-le-Franc (52110, Haute-Marne) is organized by the association La Fraternelle de Dommartin-le-Franc, as part of the traditional village patronal festival, in the Perthois region of Haute-Marne.
The 2026 edition took place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, a flea market day at the heart of a festive weekend (Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17) combining fairground attractions, a rock concert, and a refreshment and food stand run by volunteers. About forty exhibitors were registered; despite threatening weather, bargain hunters came to meet the vendors.
Admission is free for visitors.
