14th edition of the large Gries brocante at Espace Loisirs La Forêt, with military memorabilia exhibition
The Gries Flea Market is now a well-established event on the Bas-Rhin bargain-hunting calendar. Created in 2013 by the Protestant parish of Gries, it is held every year on May 8, the holiday commemorating the 1945 Armistice, at the Espace Loisirs La Forêt. This 14th edition, scheduled for Friday May 8, 2026, opens its doors from 7 AM to 6 PM.
The Gries Flea Market hosts between 100 and 200 private exhibitors offering a wide range of items: antique furniture, porcelain tableware, glassware, trinkets, books, old toys, vintage clothing, embroidered linens, vinyl records, postcards and curiosities. The novelty of this 14th edition is a military memorabilia exhibition, in resonance with the symbolic May 8 date. Medals, uniforms, photographs, period documents and helmets will be presented to the public.
Gries is a commune of about 3,400 inhabitants located in the Alsatian plain, a few kilometers south of Haguenau. It retains an authentic rural charm with its simultaneous church (shared between Protestants and Catholics, an Alsatian tradition), its traditional houses and agricultural landscapes.
