The Giant Car Boot Sale and Traders' Bargain Fair in L'Absie is one of the biggest events of the season in northern Deux-Sèvres. Organised by the local traders' and artisans' guild, this annual event combines a street bargain fair, a giant car boot sale with around 350 exhibitors, and a vintage car exhibition. Stands set up along Rue Raymond Migaud and Rue de la Poste, at €1 per linear meter, from 6 AM with no reservation needed. Free admission.
L'Absie Giant Car Boot Sale and Bargain Fair: A Major Event in Northern Deux-Sèvres
Every third Sunday in September, L'Absie comes alive with its grand bargain fair, one of the oldest and most popular events in the department. With over 60 editions, this event brings together around 350 exhibitors and thousands of visitors in the village streets.
Traders' Fair and Giant Car Boot Sale
The event features a dual programme: promotions from local shops alongside a giant car boot sale stretching through the main streets. Exhibitors set up from 6 AM with no prior booking required, at just €1 per linear meter.
Vintage Car Exhibition and Entertainment
A vintage car exhibition, organised with the Volants et Guidons club, showcases lovingly restored period vehicles. Entertainment and a free tombola at the bar add a festive touch.
