Spring car boot sale at the Champ de foire in Janzé, in the heart of the Pays de la Roche-aux-Fées
Each spring, the Champ de foire of Janzé (35150) hosts a car boot sale that brings together many exhibitors in this vast space in the heart of the town. Janzé, a canton capital of 9,000 inhabitants located 30 km southeast of Rennes, is a historic commercial center whose Wednesday market is one of the most renowned in Brittany. The Champ de foire, accustomed to large gatherings, offers an ideal setting for treasure hunting: stalls of clothing, toys, books, crockery, tools, trinkets, small furniture and various objects are generously displayed.
The market tradition of Janzé dates back several centuries. Its egg market, now reconverted, was once one of the most important in France. This culture of commerce and exchange is reflected in the spring car boot sale, where residents of the town and surrounding areas come to clear out and hunt for treasures in a good-natured atmosphere. The Pays de la Roche-aux-Fées, with its hedgerow landscapes and megalithic heritage, offers a pleasant setting to extend the outing.
Admission is free. Parking is available around the Champ de foire. Food stalls offer crepes, galette-saucisses, and drinks to accompany the morning of treasure hunting.
