Every spring, the village of Sainte-Ouenne hosts an event combining browsing, local gastronomy and family festivities. Organised by the Association Société d'Éducation Populaire de Sainte-Ouenne, this gathering spans two days, Saturday and Sunday, offering visitors a rich and varied experience in the heart of the Deux-Sèvres Gâtine.

A Garage Sale Combined with a Farmers Market

The original formula lies in combining a classic garage sale, where private individuals sell the contents of their attics and cupboards, with a local producers market. Browsers can alternate between searching for bargains on bric-a-brac stalls and tasting local Poitevin produce. Goat cheese, honey, artisan jams, seasonal vegetables and other local specialities enrich this convivial weekend.

Sainte-Ouenne: A Heritage Village Between Niort and Champdeniers

Sainte-Ouenne is a commune of around 820 inhabitants located six kilometres from Champdeniers and eighteen kilometres from Niort, in the Egray valley. The village boasts remarkably rich heritage: numerous seigneurial residences, manor houses and châteaux, as well as small heritage features such as wash houses, calvaries, medieval bridges and bourgeois houses.
