Bargain-hunting between medieval lanes and the Rock, in the heart of the old village
In the cobbled lanes of Roquebrune-sur-Argens' historic centre, between rue des Portiques and place Perrin, residents transform their medieval village into a great open-air flea market. A unique setting at the foot of the famous Rock of Roquebrune, in one of eastern Var's most beautiful villages.
Few flea markets enjoy such a setting. In Roquebrune-sur-Argens, the historic centre flea market is held in the cobbled, vaulted lanes of the old village, particularly rue des Portiques and place Perrin. Under the arcades, in the gentle shade of stone walls, sellers lay out their treasures for visitors from across eastern Var.
Ranked among the most charming medieval villages of Var, Roquebrune-sur-Argens is famous for its red ochre Rock dominating the plain, its way of the cross, its chapels and narrow lanes. Coming for the flea market is also a chance to explore the village: Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church, fountains, old colourful houses and shaded squares.
Private bric-a-brac, clothing, small antiques, occasional furniture, Provencal decor, vinyl, comics, old postcards, tools.
Unlike the weekly Lake Arena flea market, the historic centre event has an exclusively village, annual character. The whole old centre lives at the pace of the event.
The 2026 historic centre flea market took place on Saturday 21 February in the cobbled lanes of the old village. Sellers filled rue des Portiques and place Perrin, offering a uniquely medieval setting for a day of spring bargain-hunting.
On Saturday 21 February 2026, the historic centre of Roquebrune-sur-Argens once again turned into an open-air flea market. Despite the February morning chill, the Var sun quickly warmed the lanes, where residents and a few dealers offered bric-a-brac, clothing, small antiques and everyday items.
Rue des Portiques and place Perrin, with their arches and stone facades, gave this edition its signature charm. Cafes and shops enjoyed lively terraces.
