The Car boot sale of Saint-Rome-de-Cernon took over the Laumière plain for its 2025 edition, bringing together sellers and bargain hunters in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. Set up from the early morning hours in this vast area of the village's artisanal zone, the stalls offered the usual diversity of Aveyron car boot sales: crockery and ceramics, old books and magazines, clothing for the whole family, toys and board games, garden and DIY tools, occasional furniture, and various trinkets.
The earliest bargain hunters, arriving at opening time at 7 a.m., had the privilege of rummaging through the stalls first, while later visitors enjoyed a pleasant stroll under the June sun. Saint-Rome-de-Cernon, a medieval village of about 960 inhabitants nestled in the hollow of the Cernon valley, offered a remarkable setting for this popular day. The Château de Mélac, a listed historical monument from the 14th century with round towers and a keep, watched over the village from its heights. Ten minutes from the Roquefort cellars and accessible via the D999, the village attracts both residents of southern Aveyron and passing visitors, seduced by the beauty of the landscapes between limestone causses and green valley.
