Spring village flea market at the city stade
The Puchevillers flea market sets up at the village city stade on Sunday 3 May 2026. In this rural Somme village between Amiens and Doullens, private sellers and locals gather every spring for a friendly day of bargain hunting. A human-scale event typical of Picard villages, where people come as much to browse as to meet their neighbours.
Each spring, the small village of Puchevillers, nestled in the Picard countryside between Amiens and Doullens, organises its annual flea market. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 3 May at the village city stade. This multipurpose space, the heart of local community life, hosts stalls set up by villagers clearing attics and garages.
Visitors find everything that defines a proper Picard réderie: children's and adults' clothing, toys, books, tableware, small furniture, tools, baby equipment, records, trinkets and curiosities accumulated over the years. Prices are countryside-style: reasonable, negotiable with a smile, sometimes symbolic. The perfect chance for families to stock up and for collectors to spot a rare find.
Puchevillers is a small rural commune in the north of Somme, in the canton of Doullens. Surrounded by fields and hedgerows, it keeps its church, Picard farms and strong village spirit. The village has seen history: a British military cemetery, a relic of the First World War and the Battle of the Somme, stands testament to the terrible fighting of 1916. Today peaceful, Puchevillers cultivates community through its associative events.
The success of this flea market lies in its atmosphere. Here, people know one another, chat, take their time. Elders share stories, children run between stalls, people share coffee or a sandwich. The city stade, usually dedicated to sport, transforms into a market square for a day.
For bargain hunters who prefer small authentic events to crowded réderies, Puchevillers is worth noting. The offering is certainly more modest than in Amiens or Saint-Ouen, but the human quality of the gathering and the pleasant surprises make the detour into the Ponthieu-Doullennais countryside well worth it.
