Spring flea market at the village hall, preserved village of the Petit Morin valley
The Bellot Flea Market is a spring event held at the village hall of this quiet commune in the Petit Morin valley, in northeastern Seine-et-Marne. This local gathering brings together individuals and bargain hunters from neighboring villages for a convivial April day. A great opportunity to discover a preserved corner of the Brie, far from tourist routes, while making good deals.
Every year in April, the Bellot village hall opens its doors to the annual flea market, a gathering awaited by residents and hunters of the Petit Morin valley. Locally organized, the event brings together individuals emptying their attics and bargain hunters in a relaxed atmosphere typical of village events.
Bellot is a small rural commune in northeastern Seine-et-Marne, in the Petit Morin valley, between La Ferté-Gaucher and Rebais. With a few hundred inhabitants, its Brie farms, church and landscapes of meadows and woods, it embodies an authentic side of rural Seine-et-Marne. The Petit Morin valley, a small stream winding through the Brie countryside, offers a particularly pleasant bucolic setting.
Held at the village hall, this flea market has the advantage of being protected from the uncertainties of spring weather in the Paris region. Exhibitors can set up their stalls indoors, in a clean and comfortable setting, and visitors can browse without fearing a shower. The offering is that of classic village flea markets: furniture, tableware, clothes, toys, books, linens, decoration, small tools and various trinkets.
Like many village events, the Bellot flea market owes its existence to the commitment of volunteers and passionate organizers. Coordination is handled by Aurélie Binet, who leads the event and ensures its smooth running. Such events depend entirely on the energy of residents who carry them and maintain social ties in small rural communities.
As in any good village flea market, finds vary depending on the day's vendors, but you can reasonably expect to find family furniture at low prices, grandma's china, clothes for the whole family, childhood toys, paperback books, vinyl records, antique embroidered linens, gardening and DIY tools, as well as decorative objects often full of history.
After visiting the flea market, extend your day by discovering the Petit Morin valley. Rebais, a few kilometers away, has a fine church and a typical town center. La Ferté-Gaucher offers interesting historical heritage. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the hiking trails along the Petit Morin.
Arrive early to enjoy the best pieces. Bring cash and a sturdy bag. Parking is near the village hall and in the village streets. Contact organizer Aurélie Binet for any questions about registration or event details.
