Every early October, Boulevard de Stalingrad in Malakoff (92240) becomes an enormous second-hand market: the City of Malakoff organises its traditional Autumn Vide-Grenier, one of the largest in the Hauts-de-Seine department. With nearly 500 sellers — exclusively private individuals, both Malakoff residents and non-residents — from 8.30am to 6.30pm, the event draws thousands of bargain-hunters from across the Paris region.
Malakoff is a close-suburb commune in Hauts-de-Seine (92), directly adjoining Paris's 14th arrondissement and neighbouring Montrouge, Châtillon and Vanves. Home to around 32,000 inhabitants, Malakoff has a popular, working-class identity and is known for the quality of its neighbourhood life and active associations. Boulevard de Stalingrad, one of the town's main thoroughfares, runs from north to south and provides an ideal setting for a large-scale flea market.
With approximately 500 pitches, Malakoff's Autumn Vide-Grenier ranks among the largest in the inner Paris suburbs. Reserved exclusively for private individuals, it guarantees an authentic offer and often unexpected finds: furniture and decorative objects, crockery and trinkets, clothing for adults and children, books, vinyl records and comics, old toys and games, household appliances and various tools. The layout along the boulevard allows comfortable browsing even with a large visitor turnout.
Sellers wishing to hold a stand must register in advance with the City of Malakoff. Registrations typically take place in September at the Conference Hall (22 bis rue Béranger), at times set by the town hall. Pitches are available in increments of 2, 4 or 6 linear metres, subject to availability. Pricing is differentiated: reduced rate for Malakoff residents, standard rate for non-residents. A registration form, photocopy of ID, civil liability insurance certificate and payment by cheque are required. Call 01 55 48 07 26 for information.
Boulevard de Stalingrad is accessible by metro (line 13, Malakoff-Plateau de Vanves or Malakoff-Rue Étienne Dolet stations) and by RATP bus. By car, Malakoff is a few minutes from the Paris ring road (Porte de Châtillon). Free admission for visitors.
