Every year in June, the Sisteron Festival Committee organizes a large car boot sale in the city center of this historic town in the Durance valley. This annual event complements the SFC's monthly car boot sales and is one of the highlights of the town's summer activities.

At the Foot of the Citadel

The car boot sale takes place in the center of Sisteron, at the foot of the impressive Citadel which overlooks the Durance from its rocky outcrop. Exhibitors set up in the squares and streets of the center to offer various objects, clothes, toys, and trinkets. The exceptional heritage setting of Sisteron adds to the pleasure of bargain hunting.

Nicknamed the "Gateway to Provence", Sisteron marks the climatic and cultural border between the Alps and Provence. The town is a major tourist stopover on the Route Napoléon, which ensures good attendance at its summer events. The Festival Committee actively contributes to the town's animation throughout the year.
