The Saint-Martin-en-Haut Animation Committee Jumble Sale is one of the highlights of associative life in this market town in the Monts du Lyonnais. Every year on May 8th, a public holiday, the association mobilizes many private sellers who offer clothes, toys, books, trinkets and everyday objects at very accessible prices. The event attracts visitors from across the southern Rhône and neighbouring Loire communes, drawn by the friendly atmosphere and quality of finds on offer. Funds raised help finance the Animation Committee's events and cultural projects throughout the year.

Saint-Martin-en-Haut, a market town in the Monts du Lyonnais at the gateway to the Pilat

Saint-Martin-en-Haut is a market town of around 3,500 inhabitants in the Monts du Lyonnais, about forty kilometers southwest of Lyon. Perched at over 700 metres above sea level, the town enjoys an exceptional panorama over the Pilat massif and the Pic de l'Œillon (1,362 m), a summit visible for dozens of kilometres around. Saint-Martin-en-Haut is a true gateway to the Pilat Regional Nature Park, offering hiking, wild open spaces and the moorland and forest landscapes characteristic of this pre-Alpine massif. The town has a market and local facilities that make it an important hub for the surrounding villages.
