Videz vos Greniers: The Great Boissise-le-Roi Flea Market

Each year in early June, Boissise-le-Roi organizes its major community garage sale called « Videz vos Greniers » (Empty Your Attics). Run by the Festivities Committee and supported by the municipality, the event has become the village's major spring gathering. It occupies two particularly attractive areas: the Seine riverbank, with its green and luminous setting, and Place Fraguier, in the historic heart of the town.

A Unique Setting Between River and Village Square

What makes Videz vos Greniers original is undoubtedly its setting: here, you bargain hunt almost with your feet in the water, on the banks of the Seine, in a bucolic atmosphere rare for a neighborhood flea market. Exhibitors set up on the river side pay a slightly higher price (6 euros per linear meter compared to 4 euros on the street side) due to the attractiveness of the location, but benefit from visitor traffic all day long. Place Fraguier, more traditional, welcomes other exhibitors in a village market atmosphere.

A Day of Bargain Hunting and Strolling

Individuals, families, and collectors gather here for a relaxed day of bargain hunting. On the menu: clothing, toys, books, dishware, small furniture, decorative items, vinyl records, old postcards, board games, and all kinds of trinkets and curiosities. Many visitors take the opportunity to picnic by the water or extend their visit with a stroll along the Seine, which here offers one of the most beautiful river landscapes in southern Seine-et-Marne.
