APEL Notre-Dame Swap Meet at Salle Jean Moulin, Bannalec, Finistère
Every year in February, the APEL Notre-Dame de Bannalec organizes its big annual swap meet at the Salle Jean Moulin. This winter event is an institution in the town and brings together a large public of bargain hunters looking for clothes, toys, and various objects.
The Salle Jean Moulin in Bannalec offers a versatile space, complemented by an outdoor tent for good weather. Exhibitors can choose between indoor covered tables and tent spaces. The prices are clearly set: a 1.20 m table for €6 inside and a 2.90 m table for €9 under the tent. Parking is available on site to facilitate access for visitors and exhibitors.
APEL Notre-Dame de Bannalec is the parents' association of the Notre-Dame de Folgoët Catholic school. The funds raised during the annual swap meet are used to finance educational projects, school trips, and equipment the school needs. It is therefore both a festive event and a concrete act of support for local education.
Bannalec is a town of about 5,500 inhabitants located in Finistère, in the Pays de Quimperlé, about fifteen kilometers northeast of Quimperlé and forty kilometers east of Quimper. This rural town retains a strong Breton character with its folk festivals, its hedgerow landscapes, and its active community life. The APEL Notre-Dame swap meet is one of the flagship events of the Bannalec winter calendar.
Like any good Breton swap meet, the event offers light refreshments on site, allowing visitors to regain their strength between laps of the stalls. The atmosphere is friendly and familial, conducive to exchanges and good deals, in the tradition of Breton treasure hunting.
