140 exhibitors in the heart of the Somme countryside, on the 2nd Sunday of August
The Warloy-Baillon Summer Rederie, which gathers about 140 exhibitors each 2nd Sunday of August, is one of the great Picard events of the heart of the Somme. Organized by the Festival Committee with M. Ducorroy, it invades the streets of the town in a family atmosphere: fries stand, refreshments, children's merry-go-round and fairground animations complete a morning of bargain hunting.
Some Somme rederies have imposed themselves as essential institutions over the years. The Warloy-Baillon one, traditionally held on the 2nd Sunday of August, is one of them. With its 140 annual exhibitors, it goes beyond the simple village flea market to become a real bargain-hunting festival.
Behind the success: the commitment of Warloy-Baillon's Festival Committee and its coordinator M. Ducorroy, who mobilize many volunteers each year. The stand is free for exhibitors, with a modest €10 deposit returned at the end of the day.
Beyond bargain hunting, the Warloy-Baillon rederie is thought of as a real summer festival day. Fries stand and refreshments by volunteers, children's merry-go-round and fairground animations.
With 140 exhibitors, the offer is particularly varied. Individual stalls dominate (clothes, toys, books, crockery), but also occasional brocanteurs and specialized stalls (old books, records, comics, postcards).
Warloy-Baillon is a commune of about 900 inhabitants located in the Somme, about fifteen kilometers from Amiens and ten from Albert, in the Ancre valley. Saint-Martin Church (16th century), traditional brick and flint houses.
