The Flea Market of the Lentil Festival in Rosières

Rosières is a commune in the Puy-en-Velay basin, in the heart of the production area for the Green Lentil of Puy, the first French vegetable to obtain a Protected Designation of Origin. Every mid-August, the village celebrates this emblematic product through its great Lentil Festival, a popular and free event that brings together residents and visitors around gastronomy and conviviality.

A large flea market with 200 exhibitors

At the heart of the festival, the flea market/car boot sale takes over the streets and squares of the Bourg from 5 am. Around 200 exhibitors, individuals and professionals, set up their stalls to offer a wide variety of items: crockery, tools, clothing, toys, furniture, and curiosities of all kinds. Setup is without prior reservation, at a rate of €2 per linear meter, with vehicles parked in the annex car park. The event continues until 6:30 pm, offering a long day of treasure hunting.

The Green Lentil Festival of Puy

The flea market is part of the wider Lentil Festival, a friendly event organized in partnership with the Festival Committee and the Rosières Town Hall. Lentil producers, restaurateurs, and artisans offer tastings and products based on this star vegetable of the Velay region. The 2025 edition corresponded to the 52nd festival, demonstrating remarkable longevity and deep roots in local life.

A free and family-friendly event

Admission is free for visitors, and the Lentil Festival is an opportunity to discover or rediscover Rosières and its surroundings. Conviviality is guaranteed with refreshments and food available on-site. This summer event helps promote the gastronomic heritage of Haute-Loire and showcase local producers of the Green Lentil of Puy AOP.
