The 2025 edition of the Car Boot Sale and Plant Sale of Decazeville was held on Sunday, May 11th in the town centre of this former mining town in Aveyron. Bargain hunters and gardeners met for a day combining a traditional car boot sale and a plant market, in this town founded by Duke Élie Decazes in the 19th century. Private sellers offered second-hand items, clothing, toys, books, and trinkets at low prices, while plant stands offered a wide selection of vegetables, flowers, and herbs to prepare for the summer season in the garden.
On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Car Boot Sale and Plant Sale of Decazeville brought together residents of the Decazeville basin and visitors from surrounding towns for a day of treasure hunting and gardening in the town centre. This spring event, which combines the pleasures of a car boot sale with the purchase of plants for the vegetable patch and ornamental garden, confirmed its appeal to families and bargain hunters.
The flea market stalls offered the usual variety of Aveyron car boot sales: old crockery, clothes for the whole family, toys and board games, books and magazines, decorative trinkets, gardening tools, and small furniture. In parallel, plant sellers offered tomatoes, courgettes, salads, aromatic herbs, geraniums, and perennials, allowing gardeners to prepare their spring plantings in the best conditions.
The urban setting of Decazeville, with its monumental mural frescoes created by international artists, provided an original backdrop for this popular event. Visitors enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of this former converted mining town, where industrial heritage now coexists with contemporary art. The Car Boot Sale and Plant Sale of Decazeville is confirmed for Sunday, May 10, 2026.
