Street flea market and car boot sale in August in Saint-Maurice-Colombier, organized by the festival committee
Every end of August, the Comité des fêtes of Saint-Maurice-Colombier organizes its big flea market and car boot sale in the streets of the village. Individuals and second-hand dealers share the public space from 7:30 AM to 5 PM to offer a selection of antique objects, furniture, tableware, clothing, and curiosities of all kinds. A friendly and free rural event that brings together bargain hunters from the Montbéliard area for a beautiful summer day.
Saint-Maurice-Colombier is a rural commune in the Doubs of about 900 inhabitants, located about fifteen kilometers west of Montbéliard. Despite its modest size, this commune has a particularly active festival committee that regularly enlivens local life. Among the events it organizes, the end-of-August flea market and car boot sale is undoubtedly the most popular, attracting exhibitors and visitors from well beyond the municipal borders.
Organized in the streets of the village, the Saint-Maurice-Colombier flea market adopts the classic format of village street sales: stalls are set up along the sidewalks and public spaces, cars give way to bargain hunters and sellers, creating for a whole day an atmosphere of authentic popular celebration. Open at 7:30 AM, the flea market ends at 5 PM, leaving nine full hours to browse the stalls and find treasures.
The Comité des fêtes of Saint-Maurice-Colombier has adopted an accessible pricing policy for exhibitors: stands are offered at 3 euros per linear meter, with a minimum of 3 meters, or 9 euros to participate. This modest rate encourages the participation of individuals who wish to sell their items without significant investment, thus ensuring the diversity and freshness of the offer presented to visitors.
Registrations are generally to be made before the deadline set by the organizer, with applications to be sent to the address of the Comité des fêtes. This meticulous organization ensures a harmonious distribution of exhibitors and optimal use of the available public space.
Nestled in a wooded valley between Montbéliard and Héricourt, Saint-Maurice-Colombier offers the typical setting of a Comtois village with its stone houses, its church, and its surrounding meadows. The end-of-August flea market, held outdoors in the village streets, benefits from the generally favorable climatic conditions of this summer period. Visitors can thus enjoy a beautiful day in the countryside while hunting for bargains, making this event a complete outing for the whole family.
At the end of August 2026, the Comité des fêtes of Saint-Maurice-Colombier will organize its annual flea market and car boot sale in the streets of the village. Individuals and second-hand dealers will offer their finds from 7:30 AM to 5 PM in a friendly summer atmosphere. Stands at €3/linear meter for exhibitors, free admission for visitors.
