The Thomery Flea Market: a spring tradition in a historic village

Every year in mid-May, the municipality of Thomery organizes its large annual flea market, one of the events eagerly awaited by residents and bargain hunters throughout southern Seine-et-Marne. Supervised by the municipality, this event takes place at the Thomery gymnasium, offering both exhibitors and visitors a practical and well-organized setting. Registrations, traditionally set for the second Saturday of April at the town hall, allow each exhibitor to reserve a 5-meter space for the modest price of 10 euros.

You will find the usual range of quality flea markets: clothing, toys, dishes, books, small furniture, childcare equipment, decoration items and curiosities of all kinds.

Thomery, birthplace of the Chasselas of Fontainebleau

Thomery is a municipality remarkable for its history and heritage. For centuries, this village was the main producer of the famous Chasselas of Fontainebleau table grape, whose wall cultivation shaped the local landscape. The famous 'grape walls', a long network of whitewashed stone walls, constitute a unique heritage in France. The municipality is also home to the house where the painter Rosa Bonheur lived and worked, now a museum open to the public.

A practical setting: the community gymnasium

The choice of the Thomery gymnasium as the venue offers several advantages. Exhibitors have indoor spaces in case of bad weather, visitors circulate comfortably between the stands, and the organization benefits from adapted infrastructure (sanitary facilities, nearby parking, easy access).

Thomery is ideally located a few kilometers from Fontainebleau and Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, two major tourist destinations in Seine-et-Marne. Flea market visitors can easily extend their day by visiting the UNESCO-listed imperial castle of Fontainebleau, strolling through the medieval city of Moret-sur-Loing, walking in the Fontainebleau forest, or discovering the banks of the Seine and the artists' village of Barbizon.

Practical information

The Thomery flea market takes place on Sunday May 17, 2026 at the community gymnasium. Exhibitor registrations take place on Saturday April 11, 2026 at the town hall. 5-meter spaces at 10 euros. Free admission for visitors.
