Festive car boot sale of the Saint-Jean Bonfire, with pétanque, fireworks and ball in Chaveignes
The Chaveignes festival committee is organizing a car boot sale as part of the Saint-Jean Bonfire festivities. A full day combining treasure hunting, pétanque competition, musical evening, fireworks and ball, in this small village of Richelais.
The Chaveignes car boot sale is part of the Saint-Jean Bonfire festivities, one of the highlights of the year in this small village in the Richelais region. Private sellers offer a varied selection of second-hand items: clothing, toys, tableware, books, tools, trinkets, small furniture, and various everyday objects. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, typical of village festivals in southern Touraine.
Chaveignes is a small commune of about 350 inhabitants, nestled in the countryside of Richelais, a few kilometers from Richelieu, in the south of Indre-et-Loire. This rural village retains a simple and authentic heritage: a church, tuffeau stone houses, and vast agricultural expanses. The proximity to Richelieu, a 'cité idéale' built in the 17th century by the Cardinal, adds heritage interest to the visit.
The day's program includes a pétanque competition, the car boot sale, a musical evening with a meal, fireworks, and a ball to conclude the festivities. Refreshments and food are available throughout the event. Entry is free.
The Saint-Jean Bonfire car boot sale returns to Chaveignes in June 2026.
