Every year in June, the Réseau Éducation Sans Frontières of Loire-Atlantique organizes its solidarity car boot sale on Place Viarme, one of the emblematic squares in the center of Nantes. This festive and activist event is both a friendly gathering for bargain hunters and a concrete act of support for RESF's fight for the right to education for undocumented children.

RESF: defending the right to education for all

The Réseau Éducation Sans Frontières is a citizen movement founded in 2004 to respond to an unacceptable situation: children enrolled in French schools, good students well integrated, threatened with expulsion with their families. RESF brings together parents, teachers, unions, associations, and mobilized citizens to defend the universal principle of access to education. The Loire-Atlantique branch (RESF44) is particularly active in Nantes and throughout the metropolitan area.

Place Viarme, a hub of Nantes social life

Place Viarme, in the Hauts-Pavés – Saint-Félix district, is a historic and lively square in the center of Nantes. Surrounded by old buildings and local shops, it regularly hosts markets and popular events. Prices and organization

Registration for exhibitors is set at €12 for a 3x2 meter pitch. This reasonable pricing allows everyone—individuals, families, amateur second-hand dealers—to participate without financial constraints. The funds collected are entirely donated to RESF44's actions: legal support for families, citizen mobilization, and public awareness of children's rights.
