Each summer, the commune of Gaël (35290) organizes a car boot sale that attracts bargain hunters from the Pays de Brocéliande and western Ille-et-Vilaine. Private exhibitors set up their stalls in the village, offering clothes, toys, books, trinkets, crockery, tools, and decorative objects. The atmosphere is family-friendly and rural, conducive to good deals in an authentic inland Brittany setting.
Gaël is a commune of approximately 1,600 inhabitants (the Gaëlites) located 51 km west of Rennes, in the Saint-Méen Montauban community of communes. The commune covers 52 km², making it one of the largest in the department. Its territory is covered with forests, ponds, and moors, at the gates of the Paimpont forest (Brocéliande). The local heritage includes the Saint-Exupère church and several manors and old farms scattered throughout the countryside.
The car boot sale of Gaël is an opportunity to combine a day of bargain hunting with a discovery of inland Brittany: forest walks, mountain bike trails, fishing in the communal ponds. Entry is free and parking is easy in the village. A refreshment stand is usually offered by the organizers.

From Rennes, take the N24 towards Lorient then the D166 towards Gaël (approximately 51 km, 45 min). From Saint-Méen-le-Grand, 10 km via the D166.
