Car boot sale at the Célestin Marty hall at the foot of the dried lake of Montady
The Montady car boot sale is held at the Célestin Marty hall, in the heart of this Languedoc village famous for its star-shaped dried lake. From 9 am to 7 pm, exhibitors offer clothes, toys, books, and various items. Snacks and food are available all day long.
Montady (34310), a small wine-growing village located between Béziers and Capestang, is world-renowned for its dried lake whose medieval drainage created an extraordinary star shape visible from the sky. It is in this historic village that the car boot sale is held, at the salle Célestin Marty. Private exhibitors offer a wide selection of second-hand items: clothes, toys, books, crockery, and decorative objects.
Nestled between the Canal du Midi and the Ensérune oppidum, Montady is a village where history is read in the landscape. The former lake dried up in the 13th century by the monks of Fontcaude remains one of the most fascinating geographical curiosities of Languedoc. The surrounding vineyards, the Romanesque heritage, and the peaceful village life make Montady a charming place. The car boot sale at the salle Célestin Marty contributes to this local animation, bringing together locals and visitors around the pleasure of bargain hunting.
The car boot sale is open from 9 am to 7 pm, offering a wide time window to stroll and find the rare gem. A snack bar and catering are available all day. Entry is free for visitors. The event can be held partly indoors, thus protecting exhibitors and bargain hunters from the vagaries of the weather.
The Montady car boot sale returns on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 9 am to 7 pm at the Célestin Marty hall. Free entry, snack and catering on site.
