Every spring, the Place du 19 Mars 1962 in Coutras (33230) hosts a popular car boot sale that brings together many exhibitors. Set up around the square and in the adjacent streets, the sellers—mainly individuals—offer clothing, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, small furniture, tools, and decorative items. The proximity of the Salle des Fêtes Le Sully allows part of the exhibitors to be sheltered in case of bad weather.
Coutras is a town of about 9,000 inhabitants located at the confluence of the Isle and Dronne rivers, in the northern Libournais. Known for the famous Battle of Coutras won by Henri de Navarre in 1587, the town is a dynamic commercial hub between Libourne, Montpon-Ménestérol, and Saint-Émilion. Its weekly market and fairs bear witness to a centuries-old trading tradition of which the car boot sale is the modern heir.
The Coutras car boot sale attracts visitors from all over the north of Gironde and the south of Dordogne. The refreshments and food, run by volunteers from local associations, offer drinks and grilled food. Entry is free and parking is easy in the surrounding streets.
The Coutras car boot sale returns on Sunday, April 26, 2026, on the Place du 19 Mars 1962. Free entry, refreshments, and food available on site.
