Distinct from the Sou des Écoles car boot sale held in spring, the Comité des Fêtes car boot sale in Saint-Jean-de-Bournay is organized in March at the Salle Claire Delage. It is one of the first events of the year for bargain hunters in Nord-Isère, and it attracts a loyal crowd eager to resume hunting after the winter break. Exhibitors, mainly individuals, occupy the indoor and outdoor spaces to offer their second-hand items in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

A highly anticipated early season event

March marks the start of the car boot sale season in Isère. This early position in the calendar attracts the most assiduous bargain hunters, those who eagerly await the first flea markets of the year. Bargains are to be found from 7 am: seasonal clothing, toys, books and comics, crockery, small furniture, gardening tools, trinkets, and decorative items of all kinds. Prices are generally very attractive, especially at the end of the day when exhibitors try to sell as much as possible before packing up.

To benefit the municipal festivities

The Comité des Fêtes of Saint-Jean-de-Bournay is the association that enlivens the festive life of the municipality throughout the year. Thanks to the profits from the car boot sale and its other events, it finances municipal festivals, July 14th fireworks, neighbourhood meals, Christmas entertainment, and dance evenings that punctuate life in Bournay. The catering offered on site all day - sandwiches, crepes, hot and cold drinks - also contributes to the association's revenue.

Access and parking

The Salle Claire Delage is located on Rue Bayard, in the center of Saint-Jean-de-Bournay. Three car parks nearby allow for easy parking. Access by car is easy from the main roads of Nord-Isère. Tables and racks are available for exhibitors who wish to use them.
