Every year on May 8th, the village of Baldenheim hosts its annual flea market. Private exhibitors set up their stalls to offer trinkets, porcelain tableware, glassware, antique furniture, vintage clothing, embroidered linens, old toys, books, vinyl records and Alsatian curiosities.
Baldenheim is a commune of about 1,100 inhabitants nestled in the heart of the Alsatian Ried, the vast alluvial plain between Sélestat and Marckolsheim. The Ried, a Natura 2000 site, is a remarkable ecosystem of flood meadows, alluvial forests and winding waterways.
