Over 30 years of tradition: the great autumn brocante of the Fêtes Committee, in the streets of Chars
For over 30 years, the Chars Fêtes Committee has organised its annual flea market on the last Sunday of October. From 4 AM to 5 PM, 200 to 300 sellers fill the village streets. Free, convivial and well-established, it is one of the must-see autumn brocante events in the Vexin français.
Chars (95750) is a village bourg in the Vexin Français Regional Natural Park, located some twenty kilometres from Cergy-Pontoise on the Transilien J Paris-Gisors line. Every last Sunday of October, its Fêtes Committee organises a flea market that has been running for over three decades. This autumn event is one of the most significant in the Vexin-north-Val-d'Oise area, with between 200 and 300 sellers setting up from 4 AM in the village centre streets.
The Chars flea market is characterised by its scale and longevity. Rue du Château Gaillard, Rue du Docteur Dubois, Place des Fêtes, and Rue de l'Église form the usual circuit of stalls, offering visitors a browsing route through this historic Vexin village. With completely free admission, the event attracts visitors from across north-west Île-de-France.
