Monthly Sunday flea market at Place de l'Aigle Noir, in the center of Fontainebleau
The Fontainebleau Antiques Flea Market is a monthly event held at Place de l'Aigle Noir, a stone's throw from the imperial château. Organized by Prisca Organisation, this dealer-only flea market brings together antique dealers and specialized merchants in the prestigious setting of Fontainebleau's town center. Open to all visitors, it attracts bargain hunters, tourists, and lovers of old objects in a city inseparable from French heritage.
Every month, on a Sunday, Place de l'Aigle Noir in Fontainebleau (77300) transforms into a vast antiques market. Organized by Prisca Organisation, this Sunday flea market has become a classic on the Seine-et-Marne calendar and one of the most anticipated recurring events in the southern ÃŽle-de-France. The next confirmed edition for 2026 will take place on Sunday 19 April 2026.
This event stands out for its format: it is exclusively reserved for professional dealers in antiques and old objects. No food sales are permitted, which ensures a total focus on collectibles, antique furniture, and curiosities. Dealers present a carefully curated selection including: 18th, 19th, and 20th century furniture, silverware and goldsmith work, porcelain and ceramics, glassware, paintings and prints, antique jewelry, books and documents, militaria and historical memorabilia, decorative objects, and various curiosities. This level of quality attracts an informed and knowledgeable public.
It is hard to imagine a more prestigious setting for a flea market. Fontainebleau, a royal and later imperial city, is inseparable from French history. Its château, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was the residence of sovereigns from Francis I to Napoleon III. The town still bears traces of this sumptuous past: private mansions, elegant squares, refined shops. Place de l'Aigle Noir, a few hundred meters from the château, takes its name from one of the town's most famous hotels and perfectly embodies this cultural heritage. Bargain hunting here means enjoying a unique atmosphere that blends the pleasure of discovering old objects with the beauty of a historic setting.
The flea market is a perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover the town and its surroundings. After browsing the stalls, visitors can enjoy the town center and its many permanent antique shops, stop at a café or restaurant, then extend their day with a visit to the château or a walk in the Fontainebleau Forest, a paradise for walkers, horse riders, and climbers. The town also has several museums, including the Napoleonic Museum of Art and Military History.
The flea market is held at Place de l'Aigle Noir, next to the carousel, in the center of Fontainebleau. Opening hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, and admission is free for visitors. For professional exhibitors, a pitch is offered from 60 euros (information from Prisca Organisation). Public parking nearby, easy access from Fontainebleau-Avon train station.
