Professional flea market in the medieval city of Vence, every Wednesday
Every Wednesday morning, Vence hosts its professional flea market. Stalls are set up in this medieval city in the hinterland of Nice, known for its ramparts, fountains, and the famous Chapel of the Rosary decorated by Henri Matisse. From 7 am to 2 pm, professionals offer a varied selection of old objects in a preserved Provençal setting.
Vence has always attracted artists — Matisse, Chagall, Dufy have stayed there — and this artistic tradition is reflected in the flea market. You can discover paintings, ceramics, art objects, antique furniture, and quality trinkets. The cobbled streets of the historic center, the shaded squares, and the fountains create an ideal environment for strolling and treasure hunting. The city's art galleries and workshops complement the cultural offering.
The Vence flea market is part of the tradition of Provençal markets that liven up the towns and villages of the Côte d'Azur every day. Wednesday, the traditional market day in Vence, allows you to combine a visit to the flea market with the food market, for a full morning of shopping and discoveries. The cafés on the square offer pleasant terraces for a break between purchases.
