About Marché aux Livres Saint-Pierre

The Marché aux Livres de la Place Saint-Pierre brings together Toulouse booksellers every Thursday and Friday on Place Saint-Pierre, on the banks of the Garonne in Toulouse (31000). Created in 2017 by the Association des Bouquinistes de Saint-Pierre and the City of Toulouse, this market offers a wide selection of used books, old editions, comic books, CDs, and DVDs in a pleasant setting, just a stone's throw from the quais de la Daurade.

The meeting place for book lovers in Toulouse

The Marché aux Livres de la Place Saint-Pierre is the preferred meeting point for Toulouse bibliophiles. Every Thursday and Friday, the booksellers set up their stalls on the Place Saint-Pierre, one of the liveliest squares in Toulouse, located on the banks of the Garonne. Since its creation in 2017, this market has become an institution for all those who love to browse, discover, and buy second-hand books.

A rich and eclectic selection

The booksellers of Place Saint-Pierre offer a varied selection that will delight all types of readers:

  • Novels and literature: French and foreign classics, contemporary novels, mysteries;
  • Old books and rare editions: first editions, illustrated works, bound books;
  • Comic books: classic albums, comics, manga, independent comics;
  • Art books and coffee table books: photography, painting, architecture;
  • Humanities and essays: history, philosophy, sociology, travel;
  • CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records: classical music, rock, jazz, films.

Prices are affordable and allow you to build a library at a lower cost, while giving a second life to the books.

An exceptional setting on the banks of the Garonne

The Place Saint-Pierre is one of the most pleasant places in Toulouse. Lined with cafes and restaurants, it offers a view of the Garonne and the Pont Saint-Pierre. The book market is part of the friendly atmosphere of this student and festive district, in immediate proximity to the Place de la Daurade and the developed riverbanks. After literary treasure hunting, you can extend your walk along the river or sit on a terrace.

A cultural and solidarity initiative

The Marché aux Livres de Saint-Pierre was born from the joint desire of the Association des Bouquinistes de Saint-Pierre and the City of Toulouse to create an outdoor space dedicated to second-hand books. This initiative is part of the tradition of booksellers on the quays, so dear to French culture, and contributes to the cultural vitality of the 'Ville rose'. The market promotes access to reading for all and participates in the circular economy of books.
