The Hunawihr Firefighters' Flea Market is one of the most popular events on the Alsace Wine Route. Organized by the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Hunawihr, it takes place every spring at the Foyer rural on the Place de la Hunamatt. From 7am to 5pm, private sellers and visitors gather in this picturesque setting for a day of open-air bargain hunting.
Hunawihr is a village of around 600 inhabitants on the Alsatian side of the Vosges, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. It is famous for its Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur fortified church, a 15th-century Gothic building whose hexagonal walled cemetery overlooks the vineyards, and the Storks and Otters Reintroduction Centre, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.
The Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Hunawihr has been organizing this flea market for over fifteen years. Volunteers manage the organization, welcoming exhibitors and providing food and drinks throughout the day. Entry is free for visitors.
