Grand annual flea market with over 400 exhibitors in Jaligny-sur-Besbre
Every second Sunday in October, Jaligny-sur-Besbre hosts one of the largest flea markets in the Allier department. With over 400 exhibitors spread across the streets and squares of the village, this event organized by Intersociétés is an unmissable rendezvous for antique hunters in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Jaligny-sur-Besbre is a small town of character nestled in the Besbre valley, in the northeast of the Allier. Its medieval bridge, old houses, and green surroundings make it a particularly pleasant setting for an autumn day of antique hunting. The stalls are laid out along a route that winds through the village, offering visitors a maze of finds amidst preserved heritage.
The scale of this flea market is remarkable. The 400 exhibitors—a mix of professional dealers, antique dealers, and private individuals—offer a considerable range of items: antique furniture, tableware, trinkets, tools, books, vinyl records, vintage clothing, old toys, and curiosities of all kinds. The diversity of offerings allows everyone to find something they like, from the seasoned collector to the casual stroller.
The Jaligny flea market is part of a long tradition of fairs and markets that have made Bourbonnais famous. The meticulous organization by the Intersociétés committee, on-site catering, and friendly atmosphere contribute to making this day a special moment in local life, where antique hunters, residents, and exhibitors come together in good spirits.
