Traditional grand flea market at the Meaux Champ de Foire, organized by Meaux Futsal
The Grand Meaux Flea Market is one of Seine-et-Marne's major bargain hunting events. Organized by the Meaux Futsal association at the Champ de Foire, avenue du Maréchal Foch, this traditional flea market attracts professional exhibitors, dealers, and individuals from across the region every year. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors stroll in a friendly atmosphere, with free parking and on-site catering, in the historic episcopal city of the Brie.
Organized by the Meaux Futsal association, the Grand Meaux Flea Market sets up every spring at the Champ de Foire, a vast esplanade located on avenue du Maréchal Foch. This central and accessible location hosts professional dealers, antique sellers, individuals, and casual bargain hunters for a day dedicated to second-hand shopping, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, which has become an awaited rendezvous for collectors and second-hand enthusiasts in northern Seine-et-Marne, combines serious organization with friendly atmosphere.
Meaux is the most populous sub-prefecture of Seine-et-Marne, rich in a prestigious heritage that makes it one of the most endearing cities in Île-de-France. A former episcopal city, it preserves its magnificent Gothic Saint-Étienne cathedral, its episcopal palace turned Bossuet museum, its Gallo-Roman ramparts, and its remarkable historic setting. But Meaux is also a modern, dynamic city turned towards its territory, world-famous for its Brie AOP, one of the most prestigious French cheeses. It is in this prestigious setting that the Grand Flea Market takes on its full dimension.
The Grand Meaux Flea Market stands out for the quality and diversity of its exhibitors. Professional dealers and antique sellers present antique furniture, decorative objects, porcelain and earthenware tableware, antique glassware, lamps, knick-knacks, paintings, prints, and folk art objects. Alongside them, individuals and occasional dealers offer vinyl records, books, vintage clothing, toys, games, costume jewelry, and all kinds of curiosities at more affordable prices. This diversity allows every visitor, from the demanding collector to the simple Sunday bargain hunter, to find what they're looking for.
Organized by Meaux Futsal, a local sports club, the flea market benefits from efficient organization designed for visitor comfort. Parking is free near the Champ de Foire, which considerably facilitates access for families and bargain hunters coming from afar. On-site catering allows you to extend the day without having to leave the event: sandwiches, drinks, and snacks are available throughout the day. The 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. opening hours give plenty of time to take it slow, come back if needed, and fully enjoy the wide selection on offer.
Take advantage of your visit to discover the riches of Meaux and its surroundings: the Saint-Étienne cathedral and its remarkable stained glass windows, the Bossuet museum housed in the former episcopal palace, the Great War Museum of the Pays de Meaux which traces the 1914 battles in a state-of-the-art museum tour, the peaceful bends of the Marne and the canal banks. Don't forget to taste the famous Brie de Meaux in one of the city's cheese shops, and to set off to discover the regional natural park of the Brie and the Two Morin.
