The association Patrimoine et Traditions organizes every August the big annual car boot sale of Serverette, on Rue Royale. Between 51 and 250 exhibitors take over this historic street of the village for a day of summer treasure hunting in the Margeride lozérienne.
Rue Royale, whose name evokes the past importance of this communication axis in the village, transforms for a day into a vast second-hand market. Clothes, toys, books, dishes, tools, and various objects are offered by individuals in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The association Patrimoine et Traditions of Serverette aims to preserve and transmit local heritage: history, architecture, artisanal and agricultural traditions of the Margeride. By organizing this car boot sale, it follows the tradition of popular fairs and markets that have marked the life of the villages of the Margeride for centuries.
Serverette (48700) is a commune in Lozère in the Margeride, on the granite plateau between Marvejols and le Malzieu. This rural village, typical of the Margeride with its grey granite houses and barns, is surrounded by meadows where Aubrac and Salers cows graze. Rue Royale bears witness to the lively past of this village, once on an important transit route.
