About Summer Sale SJPP

The Summer Street Sale of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is held annually in the heart of the old town, the day after the night street sale. Organized by the Union des Commerçants et Artisans du Grand Baïgorry (UCGB), this daytime street sale takes over the medieval streets of the fortified city. Local merchants offer promotional items, creating a vibrant and colorful open-air market in one of the most beautiful towns in the inland Basque Country, a legendary stop on the Camino de Santiago.

On August 18, 2026, the day after the night street sale, the old town of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port extends the festivities with a grand daytime summer street sale. Merchants and artisans take over the Rue de la Citadelle, Rue d'Espagne, and surrounding squares to offer exceptional discounts on their items.

A unique medieval setting for bargain hunting

Stroll through the cobbled alleys of this 13th-century fortified city, cross the UNESCO-listed Porte Saint-Jacques, walk along the half-timbered houses overlooking the Nive river...
