About Grande Réderie Amiens Autumn

The Amiens Autumn Grande Réderie takes place on Sunday 4 October 2026. A major fixture on the French flea-market calendar, it is regarded as the second largest after the Lille Braderie. Nearly 2,000 private and professional exhibitors set up their stands along about 15 kilometres of pavements in Amiens city centre. Some 80,000 visitors are expected. Free entry. A Picard biannual institution, organised by the City of Amiens.

The Grande Réderie d'Amiens, a national institution

Twice a year, on the penultimate Sunday of April and the first Sunday of October, the City of Amiens hosts one of France's largest flea markets. The 2026 Autumn Grande Réderie takes place on Sunday 4 October. With its 2,000 exhibitors, 15 kilometres of pavement taken over by stands and 80,000 visitors, it is the heir to a centuries-old tradition and ranks just behind the Lille Braderie in size. It is one of the unmissable flea-market rendezvous in France.

An exceptional in-town format

What gives the Amiens réderie its identity is its in-town format. Unlike other large flea markets set in parks or outskirts, the Grande Réderie occupies about fifty streets in the historic centre: the Halles district, rue des Trois Cailloux (the main shopping artery), rue du Général Leclerc and the approaches to Notre-Dame Cathedral. Exhibitors set up on pavements from dawn, turning the Picard prefecture into a vast open-air museum.

A dizzying world of bargain hunting

With 2,000 stalls, the offering is huge and covers the entire brocante field. Professionals offer period furniture, antiques, paintings, porcelain, silverware, horology, jewellery, musical instruments, old books, art objects and curios. Private sellers clear out attics and whole houses: vintage clothing, old toys, vinyl records, tableware, embroidered linen, postcards, everything Picard homes hold as sleeping treasures. Specialised collectors (numismatics, philately, militaria, miniatures) also find what they seek.

A popular and tourist phenomenon

The Grande Réderie attracts varied audiences: seasoned hunters arriving as early as 5am to grab the best pieces, Amiens families out for a stroll, tourists from across France, Belgium and England, professional collectors crossing Europe to come. The atmosphere is both popular and passionate: heated negotiations, unexpected discoveries, reunions among regulars, Picard conviviality. A real social and cultural phenomenon.

A finely tuned organisation

A monumental event, the Grande Réderie requires meticulous organisation by the City of Amiens. Rerouted traffic, reinforced public transport, park-and-ride on the outskirts, no parking in the relevant streets. Exhibitor registration is done in advance on the official site grande-rederie-amiens.com, with private-seller spots drawn by lottery. The day is entirely devoted to the flea market, from dawn to late afternoon.

Amiens, prefecture of the Somme

Use your visit to the réderie to discover Amiens: the Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Gothic jewel listed by UNESCO; the Saint-Leu district and its canals; the Hortillonnages, floating gardens unique in France; Jules Verne's House; the Picardie Museum. The city is reached in 1h05 from Paris by direct TGV, via the A16, A29 or A1 motorways, or by regional trains.
