Grand flea market and car boot sale in the heart of Normandy's Venice, 200 to 300 exhibitors
The flea market and car boot sale of Pont-Audemer city center is one of the highlights of the summer in Normandy's Venice. Organized in June, this event brings together between 200 and 300 exhibitors in the medieval streets and along the city's quays. In 2026, the flea market enters its 11th edition, confirming its place in the local life of this city of art and history in the Eure department.
Every early June, the center of Pont-Audemer transforms into a vast open-air flea market. With 200 to 300 exhibitors expected, this event has become, over ten years, a major fixture on the brocante calendar in the Eure department. In 2026, the flea market celebrates its 11th edition, an anniversary that solidifies its roots in the cultural and commercial life of the city.
Pont-Audemer owes its nickname Normandy's Venice to the many branches of the Risle river that wind through the city, creating verdant islets and aquatic landscapes of great beauty. This network of canals, half-timbered houses from the 15th to 17th centuries reflected in the water, and gardens suspended above the waterways create a postcard-perfect setting that gives the flea market an incomparable atmosphere.
The medieval streets of the historic center, with their half-timbered houses adorned with sculptures and colorful facades, form a picturesque labyrinth particularly conducive to strolling and treasure hunting. Classified as a city of art and history, Pont-Audemer attracts thousands of visitors each year who can combine heritage and flea market finds during this June weekend.
The flea market takes over the entire historic center, allowing visitors a varied route through the different facets of the city. The exhibitors—individuals clearing out their attics and semi-professional dealers—offer a complete range of items: antique furniture, crockery, books, vintage clothing, toys, tools, records, and all imaginable curiosities. The density of exhibitors guarantees a day of discoveries for the most discerning treasure hunters.
Located in the heart of the Pays de Risle, at the crossroads of routes between Rouen, Le Havre, Lisieux, and Évreux, Pont-Audemer benefits from an ideal geographical position to attract visitors from all over northwestern France. The June flea market thus draws treasure hunters from Seine-Maritime, Calvados, Eure, and the Paris region.
The 2026 edition, the 11th of its name, will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026. For this anniversary edition, between 200 and 300 exhibitors are expected in the streets and along the quays of Normandy's Venice.
