The association Les Minous du Gabardan ([email protected]) organizes its big annual car boot sale in Gabarret, place des Arènes. This friendly event brings together private sellers from the region to offer all sorts of items: clothing, books, furniture, tools, toys, dishes, and bric-a-brac of all kinds. A flower market may accompany the event depending on the edition, adding a spring touch to this day.

Gabarret, former capital of Gabardan

Gabarret (47700) is a town of 1,279 inhabitants located at the crossroads of Gers, Lot-et-Garonne, and Landes. Former capital of the viscounty of Gabardan, the commune has a rich history since the 11th century, when Viscount Pierre Ier de Gabarret founded a Benedictine monastery there. Its heritage includes the Maison du Gabardan, a witness to the turbulent history of the town, particularly the Wars of Religion of the 16th century which cost it its former church.
