Les Ulis, a 1970s new town on the Saclay plateau
Les Ulis is an Essonne (91) commune born of the great Saclay plateau urbanisation wave of the 1960s–70s. Today, alongside the major Courtabœuf business park (tens of thousands of jobs), it is served by RER B (Les Ulis – Courtabœuf station), making it one of the most accessible communes in the southern Essonne.
The Urban Park (1 rue Morvan) is the commune's main green space. Each autumn — typically late September — it hosts the second annual Foire à Tout. The 2026 autumn edition takes place on Sunday 27 September. Private sellers only; residents pay €9/3m, non-residents €16/3m. Free visitor entry, 8am–6pm. Autumn colours in the mature park trees create a pleasant backdrop for bargain hunting.
