Annual grand flea market in the Saint-Thomas district of Landerneau
The Festival of Arts and Fleas is one of the unmissable summer events in Finistère. Organized every late August by the association Landerneau Rive Gauche in the Saint-Thomas district, this centenary fair brings together between 100 and 200 private and professional exhibitors offering antiques, toys, art, and flea market items. Free entry, catering on site.
Every late August, the Saint-Thomas district of Landerneau comes alive to host the Festival of Arts and Fleas, one of the largest flea markets in Finistère. Organized by the association Landerneau Rive Gauche, this event brings together between 100 and 200 exhibitors — professionals and individuals alike — on Saint-Thomas street and its surroundings, for a day of treasure hunting and discovery under the Breton sun.
With its 36th edition in 2026, the Festival of Arts and Fleas stands as an event rooted in the local heritage of Landerneau. For decades, antique lovers, collectors, the curious, and families have gathered every late August in the Saint-Thomas district to wander through the aisles of this fair, which mixes vintage items, works of art, old toys, clothing, and curiosities of all kinds. The festive atmosphere and the charm of Landerneau's old town contribute to the unique appeal of this event.
The Festival of Arts and Fleas differs from simple car boot sales due to the mix of its exhibitors: professionals in flea markets and antiques rub shoulders with individuals who have come to clear out their attics. This diversity ensures a rich and varied offering, where it's possible to find both collector's items and everyday objects at low prices. Entry is free for visitors, which encourages broad, family attendance.
Located on the left bank of the Elorn, the Saint-Thomas district is a residential and lively area of Landerneau. The association Landerneau Rive Gauche energizes this district throughout the year through various events, of which the Festival of Arts and Fleas is the summer highlight. The event takes place on Saint-Thomas street, a commercial artery that offers an ideal setting for hosting a fair of this scale.
Landerneau, a city of 16,000 inhabitants nestled at the bottom of the Brest estuary on the banks of the Elorn, is known for its inhabited Rohan Bridge — one of the few inhabited bridges still in operation in Europe. A city of art and history, it also hosts the Fonds Hélène et Edouard Leclerc, a renowned contemporary art space. Its cultural and associative dynamism makes the Festival of Arts and Fleas an event perfectly in line with the city's identity.
The Festival of Arts and Fleas takes place late August from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saint-Thomas street, Saint-Thomas district, Landerneau (29800). Free entry. Exhibitors: €5 per linear meter. Exhibitor access from 6 a.m. Catering and refreshments on site. Contact: Association Landerneau Rive Gauche — 06 07 21 61 80.
