Every last Sunday of January, Tanneron glows yellow for the Mimosa Festival, one of the Var's essential winter events. Provençal artisan market, flower parade, folk dances, Provençal mass and mimosa aperitif make this day a vibrant celebration of the massif's identity, capital of wild mimosa in France.
The mimosa capital celebrates
Tanneron is known as the French capital of mimosa: its massif hosts the largest mimosa forest in Europe, blazing golden yellow from January to March. Every last Sunday of January, the village celebrates this exceptional bloom with its Mimosa Festival.
A rich traditional program
- Provençal artisan market: mimosa bouquets, local products, jam, honey, olive wood objects.
- Flower parade with floats decorated in mimosa.
- Folk dances in traditional Provençal costumes.
- Provençal mass with songs in Provençal language.
- Mimosa aperitif (champagne and orange juice cocktail).

The 2026 Mimosa Festival took place on Sunday January 25 in Tanneron village. Flower parade, Provençal market, folk dances and mimosa aperitif enlivened the mimosa capital during a spectacular bloom.
