Car boot sale and vintage vehicle exhibition at the Stade Jean Bony in Ally, organized by the Amicale des Vieux Châssis
The Amicale des Vieux Châssis d'Ally is an association of vintage vehicle enthusiasts that enlivens the local life of this commune in the north of Cantal, located near Mauriac. Twice a year, in April and July, the association organizes an original event at the Stade Jean Bony combining an exhibition of collector vehicles and a car boot sale open to individuals.
The uniqueness of this event lies in the combination of two complementary worlds: that of vintage automobiles and that of bargain hunting. Owners of collector vehicles exhibit their mechanical treasures — cars, motorcycles, tractors, and vintage utility vehicles — while private exhibitors offer objects, clothing, trinkets, and other attic finds for sale.
Ally is a rural commune in Cantal nestled in a mid-mountain landscape, between the Sumène valley and the foothills of the Cantal massif. The village is particularly known for its Resistance Museum and its historic windmills. The Stade Jean Bony, the venue for the event, offers a clear space ideal for hosting vehicles and exhibitors in good conditions.
The spring edition, in April, kicks off the flea market and car boot sale season in Cantal. The summer edition, in July, takes advantage of the summer tourist influx and good weather to attract an even wider audience. Both editions maintain the same spirit: conviviality, free entry, and sharing between enthusiasts of old mechanics and bargain hunters.
