Annual car boot sale on Pentecost Monday in the village of Baâlon in Meuse
Every Pentecost Monday, the village of Baâlon organizes its annual car boot sale. This small village in the Meuse region, in the canton of Stenay, opens its streets to individuals wishing to part with objects, clothes, or souvenirs accumulated over the years.
With its 276 inhabitants, Baâlon is a typical commune in northern Meuse. Surrounded by the communes of Brouennes, Mouzay, and Stenay, it covers nearly 15 km² of rolling landscapes between forests and agricultural land. The village retains a built heritage characteristic of rural Lorraine, with its stone houses and peaceful alleys.
The Baâlon car boot sale emphasizes authenticity and simplicity. The exhibitors, mainly individuals, set up their stalls along the village streets. You can find everything: old dishes, books, toys, clothes, small furniture, and decorative objects. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, conducive to good deals and encounters between neighbors.
The event takes place outdoors, taking advantage of the green setting of the Meuse countryside. Visitors can stroll at their own pace between the stalls, while enjoying the tranquility of the village. A refreshment stand and light catering are usually available to accompany this day of relaxation and discovery.
