Flea market and car boot sale in May in Plouguenast-Langast, linked to the Fête du Pain et des Battages
Every year in May, the Colombier site in Plouguenast hosts a flea market and car boot sale bringing together professional and private exhibitors. Antiques, old furniture, flea market items, second-hand goods, clothing, crockery, and trinkets make up a varied offer that attracts treasure hunters from the Côtes-d'Armor region.
Plouguenast is historically known for its Fête du Pain et des Battages, a traditional event that animated the village for over twenty years, celebrating the ancestral practices of bread making and grain threshing. The flea market and car boot sale perpetuate this spirit of rural celebration and living heritage, offering visitors an immersion into Breton peasant culture.
Plouguenast-Langast is a new commune of approximately 2,400 inhabitants formed by the merger of Plouguenast and Langast, located between Loudéac and Moncontour. The Colombier site, nestled in the countryside, offers a bucolic and authentic setting for this flea market day. The village retains remarkable rural heritage with its old farms, fountains, and calvaries.
The catering available on site allows visitors to eat throughout the day. The warm atmosphere of this flea market reflects the spirit of conviviality and solidarity that characterizes rural events in central Brittany. A popular meeting place for lovers of antique objects and families in the area.
