Major flea market organized by La Scala at the Champ de Mars car park in Nemours
The Champ de Mars Flea Market in Nemours is an annual must-attend event in southern Seine-et-Marne, organized by the La Scala association. Set up on the vast Champ de Mars car park, in the very center of this medieval town on the banks of the Loing, the event brings together dozens of private and professional exhibitors in a friendly atmosphere that attracts bargain hunters and curious visitors from all over the region. A great opportunity to combine browsing and the discovery of Nemours heritage.
Every April, the Champ de Mars car park in Nemours is transformed into a vast flea market to host the major flea market organized by the La Scala association. This event, well known to residents and bargain hunters of southern Seine-et-Marne, benefits from the remarkable setting of Nemours, a small town with a thousand-year-old history nestled in the Loing valley, at the gates of the Fontainebleau state forest.
The Champ de Mars car park offers an ideal setting for hosting an event of this type: vast, flat, located in the very heart of Nemours and in the immediate vicinity of the shops, it allows exhibitors to comfortably deploy their stands and visitors to stroll easily between the aisles. The flea market traditionally starts early in the morning and ends in the late afternoon.
On this occasion, the La Scala association brings together both private individuals who come to empty their attics and professional flea market dealers who offer more sought-after pieces. This mix of exhibitors is one of the major assets of the event: visitors can find everyday items at low prices (clothing, tableware, toys, books) as well as old furniture, collectible trinkets, pieces of folk art or recycled industrial objects highly prized by contemporary decorators.
Nemours is one of the most endearing small towns in Seine-et-Marne. Nestled in a bend of the Loing, dominated by its medieval castle (Museum-Château de Nemours) and crossed by the river that makes its charm, it offers visitors an exceptional heritage that can be explored on foot in complete simplicity. The banks of the Loing, with their washhouses and mills, inspired many landscape painters of the 19th century, notably the Marlotte and Grez-sur-Loing school.
Take advantage of your visit to the flea market to discover the historic center of Nemours, its cobbled streets, its Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, its castle-museum, its romantic quays and its local specialties. A few kilometers away are also the remarkable sites of southern Seine-et-Marne: Fontainebleau rocks (climbers' paradise), Larchant gorges, Grez-sur-Loing village dear to painters, Haute Vallée de la Loing nature reserve.
The flea market takes place on Sunday April 19, 2026 at the Champ de Mars car park in Nemours. Free admission for visitors. Access by car via the A6 (Nemours exit), Nemours-Saint-Pierre SNCF station served by line R from Paris-Gare de Lyon.
