Flea market and mechoui in the village of Trezelles in summer
The village of Trézelles, a small commune in the canton of Jaligny-sur-Besbre in the northeast of the Allier, organizes its flea market every summer accompanied by a mechoui. This friendly event brings together residents and visitors around the flea market stalls and an outdoor country meal.
Trézelles is located in the Bourbonnais bocage, between the Besbre and Barbenan valleys. This hilly landscape of meadows and hedgerows offers an ideal rural setting for a summer day of bargain hunting. The village's Romanesque church and the surrounding old farms bear witness to a preserved rural heritage.
The formula combining a flea market and mechoui is very common in the small communes of the Allier. It brings residents together around a unifying event while attracting visitors who come to hunt for bargains. The mechoui, an outdoor meal where grilled lamb is enjoyed, is a well-established festive tradition in Bourbonnais.
