The Brocante des Hauts de Chatou has over the years become one of the must-attend events of the Yvelines flea market calendar. Held in the residential Hauts de Chatou neighborhood, it transforms rue Auguste Renoir, between avenue Guy de Maupassant and the Parc de l'Europe parking lot, into a vast open-air market for a day. The street names in the neighborhood, tributes to the Impressionists and great writers who visited Chatou, give this flea market a special character and recall the city's rich artistic history.

The flea market welcomes both private exhibitors emptying attics and cellars, and professional antique dealers offering antique furniture, collectible tableware, decorative trinkets, and rarer pieces. Stall prices reflect this distinction: around €27.50 for a 2-meter private stand, €58 for a professional stand, with a maximum of two spaces per exhibitor.

Chatou, Cradle of Impressionism

Chatou is a city steeped in history and art, famous worldwide thanks to its Island of the Impressionists, a refuge for boaters and painters of the late 19th century. It was in Chatou that Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted the famous Luncheon of the Boating Party, a masterpiece now exhibited at the Phillips Collection in Washington. The Maison Fournaise, a former boaters' restaurant turned museum, still evokes this bohemian era today.
