Mousson, a small village in Meurthe-et-Moselle perched on its iconic hill, hosts a friendly flea market every spring in its picturesque streets. This hamlet, which overlooks the Moselle valley and the town of Pont-ร -Mousson below, is renowned for the imposing remains of its medieval castle, the cradle of the House of Bar and a strategic point for centuries of Lorraine history.
Exhibitors set up around the village, offering visitors an outdoor treasure hunting experience with breathtaking views of the plain. You can find old tableware, rustic furniture, trinkets, books, and all sorts of everyday objects from yesteryear. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, conducive to great discoveries and exchanges between enthusiasts.
The Mousson hill rises to an altitude of 382 meters and offers a 360-degree panorama of the Saintois, Vermois, and Pays Messin regions. The castle ruins, classified as a historic monument, bear witness to the site's strategic importance since the Middle Ages. The visit to the flea market can be extended by a walk around the castle site, a stroll along the marked trails, or a stop at the Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc chapel, built at the top of the hill.
Organized in April, the Mousson flea market benefits from the spring renewal and attracts families. The villagers and residents of neighboring towns are involved in the organization, providing refreshments and light meals to accompany this day of outdoor treasure hunting. The event contributes to the vibrancy and influence of this village with its remarkable heritage.
The Brocante de Mousson returns on April 12, 2026, in this village perched on its historic hill overlooking the Moselle valley. Free entry.
