A fair in the Montmorillonnais heart

Lathus-Saint-Rémy is a rural commune of around 1,100 inhabitants at the far south of Vienne, in the Montmorillonnais, near the Haute-Vienne border. The town, nestled in a remarkable natural environment (valleys, woods, rivers — Petite Blourde crosses the commune), is notably home to CPIE Val de Gartempe, known for nature activities and educational stays. CPIE Val de Gartempe is one of the commune's best-known structures. Year-round nature discovery activities, school trips, adult training, playing a major role in southern Vienne's natural heritage. The fair can be a chance to discover natural sites managed by CPIE: Petite Blourde gorges, ponds, forests.

Green tourism area

Southern Montmorillonnais is particularly appreciated for green and outdoor tourism: hiking on marked trails, canoeing on the Gartempe, mountain biking on forest paths, wildlife watching (deer, birds, bats), pond swimming. The fair fits into a nature weekend.
